Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Director or VP of CoE or Operations/Supply Chain, this position is accountable for ensuring planning systems are being utilized to their fullest capabilities to create and execute production plans throughout all of the CoE's and extended locations (including IPOS plants), for coordinating supplier planning strategies between Global Sourcing and all CoE's, and for providing leadership and establishing direction in logistics management. This position is viewed as crucial to achieving consistent execution of supplier strategies and all movement of materials in support of the overall order fulfillment process.
Essential Functions:
Accountable for the development and execution of planning strategies appropriate for the business and aligned with business objectives. Accountable for the reflection of these strategies in the execution of the MRP system - planning parameters, etc.
Accountable for audits and submits reports to senior management regarding materials control activities aligned to Sarbanes-Oxley.
May be responsible for functions related to stockrooms and logistics as follows: Development and implementation of the long term strategy for managing all stockroom functions. This would include managing on-site and possible off-site locations, creating strategic inventory stocking programs, implementing vendor managed inventory, and suggesting quality improvement opportunities.
May be responsible for functions related to stockrooms and logistics as follows: Responsible for parts receiving, stocking, storing and picking to support production processes.
May be responsible for functions related to stockrooms and logistics as follows: Responsible for all post final gate operations to ship products on time to customers. This includes finished goods storage, shipping prep, and shipping.
May be responsible for functions related to stockrooms and logistics as follows: Responsible for accuracy of cycle counts.
May be responsible for functions related to stockrooms and logistics as follows: Manage staff of leaders responsible for all logistics functions.
May be responsible for functions related to stockrooms and logistics as follows: Provide leadership, guidance and expertise in import/export, and other regulated transportation matters.
May be responsible for functions related to stockrooms and logistics as follows: Manage traffic and logistics activities to ensure transportation is conducted in cost effective and timely fashion.
Assignment of work, capacity management and performance management.
Developing and maintaining training for the group and extended business group to establish capabilities required to meet business objectives.
Implementation of lean methodologies within the planning system to support WLES implementation within the CoE's.
Development and execution of budget for the department.
Drive compliance to documented processes and procedures. Accountable for all procedures and work instruction for managing materials within CoE.
Drive continuous improvement to documented processes and procedures.
Provides direction and oversight for development of members.
Responsible for insuring adequate Environmental, Health, and Safety systems are established and maintained for the department.
Accountable for driving and executing inventory strategies as related to materials processes.
Ensure planning systems are being utilized to their fullest capabilities throughout all of the CoE's. This includes strategic supply strategies such as Kanban's, UCL's and finished goods stocking levels.
Continuously improve planning systems to meet the specific needs of the CoE's.
Responsible for the effective execution of the Sales & Operations Planning processes.
Ensure specific supplier strategies are coordinated between Global Sourcing and the CoE's. Also ensure supplier strategies are consistent between the CoE's and that collaboration is occurring between material planners, supplier managers, and the supplier.
Assist with resource loading challenges to ensure both urgent and important Materials work is being accomplished. Act as the primary liaison to watch item number loading and suggest where new resources may be needed, where sharing can occur, or when resources should be transferred.
Develops and executes logistics strategies to ensure internal QDRC objectives are met. Includes interface with sales force to drive improvements in customer shipment programs and behaviors.
Other Essential Functions:
Promotes alignment but understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization.
Responsible for executing WLES in the supply base through the use of Kanban's, supplier owned inventory or various other inventory methods.
May be responsible for the coordination with 3rd party logistics provider to ensure all performance objectives are met.
May be responsible for shipping/receiving in some locations.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Solid knowledge of computer based MRP2 systems such as SAP or WISE.
Solid knowledge of business software (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Projects)

Education:
US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)
Experience:
Industrial manufacturing-based experience. 5+ years in planning 3-5 years leadership experience
License & Certifications:
APICS Certification
