What’s in it for you
This is an exciting opportunity to support the growth of Trane Technologies by leading materials strategy and execution for major New Product Development (NPD) initiatives within the chiller portfolio. You will partner closely with product management, product engineering, operations, and the Supply PGT to accelerate project delivery, ensure stable product launches, and drive continuous improvement across the materials value stream. Your work will directly enable customer satisfaction, inventory optimization, and long range business planning.

Job Summary
The Materials Project Manager will serve as the primary leader for materials project management, covering all new product launches, phase out optimization, and lifecycle management. This role ensures full material readiness from initial project creation through project stability, enabling efficient fulfillment from engineering to procurement to production scheduling. You will also be a key driver of lean manufacturing behaviors, BOS deployment, and standardized planning processes that improve inventory turns, mitigate obsolete materials, and support on time project execution.

What You Will Do

Serve as the materials leader for assigned NPD projects from project creation through product stabilization.

Ensure all materials are fully and accurately set up in enterprise systems to support end to end use—from engineering through procurement, manufacturing engineering, production scheduling, and lifecycle management.

Execute the materials strategy defined in the Long Range Planning cycle, maintaining a 3–5 year forward view while delivering annual project milestones

Lead materials project management and planning strategy for new product launches, ensuring alignment with SIOP consensus plans.

Drive materials productivity improvements, inventory optimization, and obsolete material mitigation initiatives.

Develop and drive countermeasures for underperforming processes, suppliers, or planning parameters.

Support Global Procurement Commodity Leaders in supplier selection and seamlessly transition new suppliers/products into operations.

Develop cross functional team members at all levels through deployment of BOS tools and processes.

What You Will Bring

Bachelor’s degree required.

APICS certification strongly preferred.

10+ years of supply chain experience, including significant exposure to materials planning, procurement, and operations environments.

5+ years of management experience.

Demonstrated experience managing large scale materials and engineering change projects (5,000+ part number changes) supporting major revenue impact.

Proven success with lifecycle management strategies that sustain entire systems—not just individual components.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$95,700.00 - $199,300.00
