The Boeing Commercial Airplanes is currently seeking an Experienced or Senior Metallurgical Lab Technician to join their team in Everett, WA.

This is a team of subject matter experts who apply engineering knowledge of materials, processes, and physics engineering disciplines (materials science, chemistry, physics) to support the engineering, manufacture, and sustainment of Boeing products regarding the design, production, application, and maintenance of mechanical and structural systems.

Position Responsibilities:

Experienced with the development or improvement of inspection or test techniquesExperienced in the design and creation of test coupons to validate equipment or determine product acceptanceFollows documented procedures to set up and calibrate specialized test or measurement equipmentAssists in the documentation of procedures for setting up and calibrating test equipmentFollows documented procedures to perform tests or inspections and collects data for evaluation of process equipment, software, solutions, products or materialsAnalyzes routine test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and processes conformity or assists with standard corrective action recommendationsElevates anomalous results as requiredDocuments and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirementsWorks under general supervisionMay require working at heights and enclosed spaces

Basic Qualifications (Desired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications):

Associate’s Degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 3 more years of equivalent technical experience3 + years of experience in operations management and/or project management3 + years of experience working in a laboratory setting, performing testing to standards, and providing laboratory service to customers.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications):

5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience writing technical reportsExperience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specificationsExperience with the operation of industrial equipment including band saws, cutting saws, grinding, polishing, etc.Experience with the operation of precision instruments including microscopes, optical comparators, spectrometers, and mechanical test framesExperience cutting, mounting and polishing chemically etch and interpret metallurgical mounted samplesExperience preparing and working with chemicals including etchants, and cutting fluids

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for Experienced level (Level 3): $65,450 - $88,550

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): 78,200 - $105,800
