Job Title: Material Resource Planner (MRP)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Material Resource Planner (MRP) for a 2+ month contract with the potential for a permanent position. This role involves supporting the planning and coordination of material requirements to meet program cost, schedule, and production objectives.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain time-phased material plans based on BOMs, production schedules, and program need dates.Translate program demand into planned orders and coordinate with Procurement to initiate purchasing activities.Monitor material status and availability across all program phases—development, qualification, and production.Ensure MRP system data accuracy, including lead times, lot sizes, and reorder points.Drive shortage resolution by working with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.Coordinate material impact assessments for configuration changes and design evolutions.Identify risks to material readiness and escalate potential shortages or delays.Collaborate with Engineering on BOM accuracy, part substitutions, and early material needs.Provide input to program schedules, burn-downs, and execution readiness metrics.Essential Skills
2–5 years of planning experience.Expertise in material planning and Microsoft Excel.Experience in production scheduling and MRP systems.Experience in aerospace and defense is preferred; experience with medical or aviation is also considered.Proficiency in working with electronic materials.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with NetSuite and MRP systems.Understanding of sourcing, vendor management, and PO coordination with Procurement.Experience in maintaining time-phased material plans and supply chain management.Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid work environment, with a preference for more onsite presence. The office is based in San Diego, offering an opportunity to work at a reputable aerospace and defense company. The company is currently implementing an MRP system and uses NetSuite primarily for financials. JobBOSS is in place but not well maintained. The role involves close collaboration with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Engineering, with about 50% of the work being onsite.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
