Reporting to: Manufacturing Services Manager 

Location: Mingaladon

Materials Planner

The incumbent is responsible for planning the procurement of Tobacco (Cutfiller) and Non-Tobacco Materials (NTM) for production, ensuring timely delivery without disrupting manufacturing schedules. This role requires close coordination to manage material shelf life, import license (IL) availability, and SAP IBP/BW processes. The Material Planner also handles claims processing and ensures accurate data for IL preparation. Effective communication with internal teams and suppliers is critical

 

As the Materials Planner, you will: 

Planning & Forecasting:

Plan procurement of materials in line with MRP procedures to ensure production continuity. Share monthly forecasts with suppliers and align supply plans accordingly. Maintain accurate material master data and prepare validated inputs for Import License (IL) applications.

Ordering & Cost Optimization:

Place timely orders for materials based on production schedules and supplier timelines. Optimize purchase price variance (PPV) and container space utilization to reduce costs. Assess freight options and implement contingency plans when delays occur.

Inventory & Shipment Tracking: 

Maintain optimal inventory levels and monitor shelf-life expiry risks. Track shipments and coordinate with suppliers, logistics, and warehouse teams. Resolve delivery discrepancies to prevent production disruptions. Monitoring & Compliance Ensure timely availability of import licenses and monitor regulatory compliance. Coordinate with Quality and Production teams for shelf-life extensions when needed. Initiate claims for defective materials and minimize operational impact.

Safety, Sustainability & Continuous Improvement

Support safety and sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction and energy-saving efforts. Adhere to EHS standards and contribute to maintaining zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) records. Participate in ISO audits, 5S3R programs, and improvement projects

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Minimum 2 years in materials planning or supply chain operations, preferably in FMCG. Proficiency in SAP ERP and Microsoft Office Strong analytical and communication skills Detail-oriented and proactive Knowledge of Myanmar import/export regulations is a plus Fluent in English (spoken and written
