Materials Manager
Job Title: Materials Manager (Westborough, MA)

Job Description

As a Production Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing a comprehensive production control process to support high-volume manufacturing operations and emerging products in robotics.

ResponsibilitiesEngineer all end-to-end material flows from supplier receipt to line-side delivery to meet production requirements efficiently.Develop a Plan for Every Part to document part numbers, quantities, suppliers, storage locations, part attributes, and replenishment plans.Establish visual management systems and standard operating procedures to align production floor processes with the plan.Update production spreadsheets to clearly communicate the status of each job/work order and its factory clear-to-build status.Communicate internally any known or potential issues that could affect production or shipments, liaise with cross-functional teams to assess progress and discuss needed plan of action.Coordinate the schedule, plan, and initial staging of material/kits to all vital areas of production and test.Develop and standardize area supermarket replenishment plans to prevent overstocking and shortages.Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production Planning to ensure work completes on time to schedule.Create standard operating procedures on defined work paths.Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams to ensure materials are ready for scheduled production.Act as the primary contact for matters regarding schedule execution status and can build status based on available inventory.Essential Skills3+ years of domain experience in manufacturing, supply chain operations, or materials management.Ability to work independently and efficiently on various assignments simultaneously.Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles (Kanban, JIT, Kaizen).Knowledge of material resource planning (MRP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).Strong communication skills both within the team and with external stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.Data extraction and visualization skills (SQL, PowerBI, Tableau).Ability to manage multiple programs in parallel.Project management expertise, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertified Kinaxis Author or Advanced User certification.Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and process optimization.APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.Knowledge of emerging technologies in the supply chain and logistics space (e.g., IoT, machine learning).Master's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related technical discipline.Work Environment

The work hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm EST. You will be part of the Robotics Manufacturing & Technical Operations (RMTO) team, which owns manufacturing planning for Robotics Manufacturing. This role specifically supports production control on the manufacturing floor that builds robotics for the FC network. The environment requires experience in lean manufacturing and material management in a manufacturing setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $54.00/hr.
