About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:

The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!

The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on electric-vehicle charging, photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of electric-vehicle chargers, low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility.

We are looking for a Materials Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

Reporting to the Plant Logistics Manager, the Materials Manager will lead the warehouse, receiving, and inventory control activities at the Siemens plant in Wendell, NC.

You’ll make an impact by:

Analyze Medium Voltage switchgear requirements from customers to develop detail design engineering essential for review and manufacture of switchgears. Prepare electrical drawing packages (including panel arrangements, nameplate schedule, schematic diagrams, communication drawings, three-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings and wiring diagrams) for factory manufacturing of the switchgear and customer documentation using CAD software. Work directly with project engineers to create product solutions meeting customers’ expectations in cost effective and timely manner. Work directly with the manufacturing teams addressing any challenges as they produce your designs. Initiate and support product as well as process improvements by cross team collaboration

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline 3-5 years of leadership experience in a high volume manufacturing environment Experience in areas such as Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or other related manufacturing functions  Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal Experience with warehouse management systems Proficiency in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel Experience with operating and maintaining a variety of warehouse material handling equipment Experience with warehouse scanning equipment and applications

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SAP WM module Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field. Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CSCP). Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and leadership skills.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
