As a Materials Management Manager, you will manage the end-to-end inventory, shipping/receiving, warehouse and internal distribution functions for regional hospitals. Your work is essential to ensuring the caregivers at Cleveland Clinic can continue providing patients with the best healthcare experience possible.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00am to 4:30pm with rotational weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Direct the activities of the inventory control system, oversee the entry of all data to the system and review daily/monthly.Assign tasks to caregivers and inspect work.Utilize management reporting to monitor service levels including inventory turnover and cost of inventory.Plan, develop and manage all policies and processes related to inventory control in collaboration with corporate Supply Chain.Act as a resource to user departments related to inventory control systems.Participate in the development of overall goals and objectives for system materials management.Work in collaboration with purchasing/buying to expedite orders, resolve x-items, recalls, stock-outs and repairs.Perform all personnel management functions including hiring, training, orienting and developing.Conduct performance appraisals, initiate promotions, counsel caregivers and build an inspired team.Develop and maintain operational budgets and productivity without compromising patient care.Initiate, develop and maintain strong, solid work relationships and teamwork within the department and throughout the facility.Interact with internal customers to provide and process information to promptly respond to inquiries, concerns, and requests on materials needs.Collaborate and exchange information between corporate Supply Chain and their entity and represent and serve on committees that will enhance the improvement of the delivery of services and products.Ensure products are monitored and maintained properly throughout their entity, including operating rooms and procedural areas.Complete six months of on-the-job training to learn specialized surgery components, inventory systems, and departmental policies and procedures.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field and five years of experience in inventory control functions with responsibility for par levels, purchasing functions, inventory analysis and usage trends OR High School Diploma/GED and seven years of experienceValid Driver’s License (VDL)Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and WordExperience working with an ERP systemPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Experience in healthcare supply chain functionsTwo years of supervisory experiencePhysical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to operate office equipmentPeriods of sitting, standing and walking to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetingsNormal or corrected visionAbility to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in personPersonal transportation to travel to multiple sites
