As a Materials Management Manager, you will manage the end-to-end inventory, shipping/receiving, warehouse, and internal distribution functions for regional hospitals with an annual supply spend of less than $25 million. You will oversee inventory control and data accuracy, lead and develop your team and collaborate with corporate Supply Chain and purchasing to ensure timely, cost-effective material management. You will manage budgets, resolve supply issues and maintain strong relationships across departments to support hospital operations. 

 

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 4:30PM, with weekend and holiday requirements. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Direct the activities of the inventory control system, oversees the entry of all data to the system. 

Review daily monthly. 

Assigs tasks to staff and inspect work. 

Utilize management reporting to monitor service levels including inventory turnover and cost of inventory. 

Plan, develop and manage all policies and processes related to inventory control in collaboration with corporate Supply Chain. 

Act as a resource to user departments related to inventory control systems. 

Participate in development of overall goals and objectives for system materials management. 

Work in collaboration with purchasing/buying to expedite orders, resolve x-items, recalls, stock-outs and repairs. 

Perform all personnel management functions including hiring, training, orienting and developing. 

Conduct performance appraisals, initiate promotions, counsel employees and build an inspired team. 

Develop and maintain operational budgets and productivity without compromising patient care. 

Collaborate and exchange information between corporate Supply Chain and his/her entity. 

Represent and serve on committees that will enhance the improvement of the delivery of services and products. 

Ensure products are monitored and maintained properly throughout his/her entity, including operating rooms and procedural areas. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field 

Three years of experience in inventory control functions with responsibility for par levels, purchasing functions, inventory analysis and usage trends OR High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and five years of related experience  

Meet all Cleveland Clinic Insurance requirements 

Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word 

Background in Project Management  

Experience in working with ERP system 

Six months of on-the-job training required to learn specialized surgery components, inventory systems and departmental policies and procedures 

Valid Driver’s License (VDL) to drive box truck  

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Two years of previous supervisory experience 

Experience in healthcare supply chain function

Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.

May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.

Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.

Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites.
