Bridgestone and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide range of Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand products and solutions to address the needs of a broad range of customers and industries. **Job Category** Engineering & Science **Position Summary** The Materials Engineer position applies materials science and engineering concepts, including the knowledge of development / testing and material properties required to meet evolving performance and application demands. Roles within this group work to prepare project plans, controls & specifications, schedules, cost estimates, testing and/or coordination of key project deliverables. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior group members. **Responsibilities** + Execute material compounding projects to meet compound technology roadmap commitments on time and on schedule + Develop new compounding strategies based on new raw material application rule sets + Develop unique or first time use technologies/ transfers from others poles + Uses latest tools to perform value-added modeling and engineering analysis, draw conclusions from the data and execute forward actions. + Makes technical and design related decisions focused on achieving project and/or customer goals. + Communicates technical information to colleagues, customers, etc. + Other duties as assigned **Minimum Qualifications** Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience **At Bridgestone, you are Free to Be** We believe people can only provide superior service and quality to others when they bring their whole self to work.
