Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is an outstanding partnership that allows our customers to use the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits. **Summarized Purpose:** This role will work within the Materials Characterisation team within the Materials Science Laboratory within our client's R+D site in Ware, UK. Some flexibility may be required to support with similar activities within the client's site in Stevenage. **Essential Functions:** + Perform physical characterization testing on Drug Substance and some Drug Product assets + including gravimetric vapour sorption (GVS), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), optical microscopy (OM), xray powder diffraction (XRPD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), specific surface area (SSA), particle size analysis, envelope and true density. + Conduct analysis using Physical performance techniques - including bulk powder testing – texture analyser, spin tester, shear cell. + Perform Method development and validation activities on any of the above techniques + Complete the write-up/documentation of experimental results on electronic experiment notebook system + Effectively communicate and feedback planning of work, timings and completion to the Materials Science project team members. + May be required to collate clear visualization of results using Microsoft excel/ powerpoint/ word. This will include using digital tools. + Fully understand the requirements related to Quality, Safety and Regulatory aspects of their work. + Comply with all relevant training, policies and SOPs. + May perform any other tasks as requested by the Materials Science Team Member, including tasks such as stability study sample prep, data review, transcription checking. **Education and Experience:** + B.S./M.S. degree in Analytical Science, Chemistry, Life Science, or equivalent industry experience, with minimum 1-3 years’ experience in an analytical, laboratory-based role, primarily in the pharmaceutical industry. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Understanding of GMP and non-GMP analysis and their application in an analytical environment.
