Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role:

This person will be responsible as the leader of the Supply Chain floor team. This position is a people leader position and will have direct reports. The position will work cross functionally with all of the production teams and support their needs and requirements. Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision making and is accompanied by a high level of independent judgment.

What You'll Do:

Responsible for material flow activity (the physical movement of material from receipt through shipment)Audits department records for employees, Safety documents, Ergonomics, Suggestions, Grievances, Training, Vacation, Attendance and overtimeImplements, monitors and maintains PS05 and PS15 workplace safety systemsImplements, monitors and maintains GMS initiativesAssures compliance to internal control proceduresSupports production organizationDevelops standardized workMaintains clean housekeeping standard and applies 5SDevelops subordinatesDevelops and maintains labor relationshipsSupervises floor operationEnsures the material personnel are available for hazardous material trainingCoordinates development of the BPD for floor operationsCommunicates BPD requirements to staff membersFollows up and prepares required documentation for BPD reportingParticipates in department/functional Gap Closures Planning ProcessDocuments plans/ideas for future years BPDInvolves department Business Planner where appropriateMonitor the scorecard reporting process for input into Gap Closure Planning for current and future yearsProvides input into budget development based on annual plansReviews and approves manpower plans (GMOS)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or another Business-related field or related experience7+ years of Supply Chain experience.High functional capability with supply chain floor systems – MGO, EPS, PPS, VBIMS, GEPICS, WMS, etc.Strong understanding of supply chain and lean material processes; Logistics (LLP processes), Receiving, Internal Material Flow, Scrap, Obsolescence, etc.Experience with GMS SLT implementation and executionProficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Strong written and oral communication skillsAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time, with ability to meet project timelinesHigh level of analytical ability where problems are complexKnowledge of work measurement and work standardsKnowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processesDemonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area requiredAppropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals requiredEstablishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or projectCoordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptionsKeeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertiseActively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunitiesAbility to travel 15% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with varied Supply Chain office and floor assignmentsMulti plant and/or multi-functional experienceExperience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS)Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Calibrator status GMS Short Lead Time (SLT) business processes and proceduresKnowledge of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) with an emphasis on Lean Material Strategies (LMS)
