About TEI

TEI is a highly technical company, known for making highly complex, machined castings for a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, and space exploration.  We make prototypes and low volume production castings and work on advanced confidential products, this enables large companies to make faster strides in electrification, fuel cells, and giant giga cast vehicle structures. Work Arrangement

On-Site: This position requires an employee to be on-site, five days per week, on a full-time basis.

The Role

The Material Science Engineer will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing and quality of low-pressure aluminum sand castings for automotive, aerospace and defense industries. In this role, you will receive structured training to obtain the knowledge that will be required to be successful in this position. Recent graduates with relevant internship experiences are encouraged to apply!

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

Work in the metallurgical lab to test prototype and production parts and alloys, perform chemical analysis, microstructural analysis, and use other material science equipment to determine material properties such as tensile strength, ductility and hardness.Work on metal alloys for prototyping.X-ray and CT-scan parts to identify defects non-destructively.Prepare detailed metallurgical reports for customers and internal R&D projects.Work on heat treatment recipes to meet mechanical property targets.Interface with customers’ material engineers to present results and reportsBe involved in internal and external quality audits from customers and ISO 9001 & AS9100 auditorsAbility to work some Saturdays as needed to support critical projects.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

1+ years of experience in a metallurgical lab or with material science methodology in a manufacturing environment, mounting and polishing samples, Keyence microscope, tensile and hardness testing.1+ years of experience performing CT and X-ray scans1+ years of experience with CAD software tools (NX Siemens preferred)1+ years of experience with 3D scanning tools (Creaform preferred)1+ years of experience with MS Excel
