Material Planner - Forsyth, MO
Reporting to the Material Planning Manager, the Material Planner I is a key tactical position within the Supply Chain Team. The Material Planner, acting as a part of the team, requires minimal supervision and can resolve difficult questions and problems. Primary role will be the timeliness of issuing POs daily between miscellaneous, raw materials & packaging. While ensuring the maintenance & follow through to limit any delays to vendor payment/services, incoming ingredients and/or packaging for our internal stakeholders. This role will have a higher level of responsibility, and their workload is generally multifaceted and specialized.
The Material Planner I must have problem solving abilities, be well organized, analytical, self-directed and may also perform routine clerical functions, including filing, answering phones, distributing materials and record retention. The Material Planner must be proficient in multiple computer applications and will be expected to become proficient in all ADM MIS systems.
Responsibilities
Procurement & PlanningIssue and manage purchase orders (POs) daily for raw materials, packaging, and miscellaneous items.Ensure timely and accurate PO processing to avoid delays in production or vendor payments.Collaborate with the Logistics team to determine optimal transportation modes and manage freight costs.Vendor & Inventory ManagementManage inbound raw material categories and troubleshoot delivery delays.Support the vendor payment process by resolving invoice discrepancies and ensuring timely payments.Track and report supplier performance metrics, including KPIs for vendor execution.Confirm regular inventory cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.Monitor and update inventory records by analyzing stock status reports and coordinating timely disposition actions to ensure inventory accuracy.Cross-Functional CollaborationMonitor and manage the Inbound On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance report and meeting by collaborating with material planner(s) to identify and document the reasons for any late or incomplete deliveries from suppliers.Work closely with Strategic Buyers, local supply chain teams, and broader business units.Align with Strategic Procurement on raw material data attributes such as safety stock levels, lead times, and forecasts.Support new raw material setup and second-source initiatives, including documentation and system updates.Data & Systems ManagementPerform data entry and analysis related to inventory, cost savings, and supply chain metrics.Maintain accurate records and documentation in ERP and MIS systems.Assist with routine clerical functions such as filing, answering phones, and distributing materials.Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles with aBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles without aEquivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent organizational and communication abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (experience with ADM MIS systems is a plus).Ability to work independently and manage a multifaceted workload in a fast-paced environment.Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to work in a variety of conditions such as an office environment and indoors/outdoors, as well as physical demands such as standing, kneeling, and sitting for prolonged periods of time.Must be able to operate a computer and other relevant office equipment for prolonged periods.
