How will you make an impact?
As a Material Planner at our Auburn Hills, MI site, you will play a critical role in ensuring that production is supported by timely and accurate material availability. You will execute material requirement plans, manage supplier communications, and maintain ERP data integrity. Your ability to coordinate across departments, resolve supply chain issues, and support cost optimization will directly impact production efficiency and customer satisfaction.
What will you do?
Material Planning & Execution
+ Analyze and execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure material supply meets production demand.
+ Maintain ERP system data integrity, including material master records, source lists, and information records.
+ Coordinate material movement from receiving to production to support on-time delivery.
+ Participate in Master Production Schedule decisions through proper material sizing.
+ Manage material changes due to Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and End of Life (EOL) transitions.
Purchasing & Supplier Management
+ Issue Purchase Orders in accordance with negotiated pricing, terms, and conditions.
+ Ensure supplier adherence to established agreements and monitor delivery and quality performance.
+ Optimize order management processes and support commodity and pricing strategies.
+ Provide feedback on supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Inventory & Cost Control
+ Resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies, accounts payable, and freight expenses.
+ Disposition non-conforming, excess, obsolete, or high-stock materials.
+ Support cost optimization efforts and purchasing-related performance metrics.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
+ Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve supply chain processes.
+ Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices.
+ Support documentation accuracy and alignment with operational excellence principles.
How will you get here?
Education
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
+ 0–1 year of experience in supply chain, planning, inventory management, or project management preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
+ Advanced PC skills and proficiency in ERP systems.
+ Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
+ Solid problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Physical Demands
+ May require extended periods of sitting or standing.
+ Close vision and use of computer monitor required.
+ Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
+ Office-based work environment with low to moderate noise levels.
