Material Lead ( Nationals Only)
EY ROLES The SDC Material Lead is responsible for planning, coordination, procurement tracking, and management of all project materials to ensure timely availability, compliance with specifications, and alignment with Construction and Commissioning schedules through start up and first gas.  Material lead key accountabilities are as follows; Demonstrate excellent personal HSSE leadership and HSE behaviours. Lead, by example, with regards to company’s HSE policy. Lead and mentor a team of material controller, warehouse staff and transactions :  BASIC SKILLS Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and BOM’s. (Bill of materials.) Understanding of material certification and quality requirements. Knowledge of procurement processes, RFQs, Pos, expediting and delivery tracking. Familiarity with incoterms, shipping documentations and cunstom clearance. Strong communication and coordination skills for dealing with cross-functional teams and vendors. Progress tracking and reporting of material status. Risk identification and mitigation (e.g. lon lead items, delays, shortages). Proficiency in Excel, databases and reporting tools TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS Minimum:  HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering/or materials management discipline. Bachelor degree in Enginering, Supply chain or related field is also acceptable. Desirable Criteria:    Knowledge of CLIENT ’s internal processes. Previous experience in similar role would be a distinct advantage. Degree or diploma in engineering, supply chain, logistics.                EXPERIENCE Strong communication skills to coordinate between procurement, engineering, construction and logistics team. Strong understanding of topside fabrication and construction workflows. Demonstrated experience managing bulk and tagged materials (e.g piping, valaves, structural steel, E&I components, and packages). Familiarity with piping, structural, steel, instrumentation, mechanical and bulk materials used for topside platforms. Ability to provide clear, concise material status reports to project management and construction leadership. Significant experience (10+ years) material management experience, with at least 3-5 years in offshore projects. Understanding of MM system: Proficiency in systems like SAP MM, Smart plant Materials (SPM), IPMS (sKBR tool). Knowledge of material preservation requirements and safe handling process. Experience with HSSE issues related to on-site construction activities RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
  Develop and maintain the material requirement plan (NRR) in coordination with engineering, procurement, and construction teams. Forecast material needs based on project schedules and monitor changes and ensure material dates are aligned with overall project execution plan. Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely purchasing of materials and address any material-related supply chain issues proactively. Implement system for tracking material from procurement to delivery to site. Maintain and report material status using CLIENT - approved tolls (SAP, IPMS etc). Flag delays or shortages and escalate risks to project leadership. Oversee site warehouse operations, storage, and preservation of materials. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting and stock reconciliation. Coordinate with Logistics teams for transport, import/export, and customs clearance. Expedite material deliverables to support construction progress. Act as the focal point between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operation teams on material related matters Resolve conflicts and ensure clear communications on material priorities and constraints. Manage the impact of design changes on material requirements, track surplus and unused materials; manage returns and disposal according to CLIENT  procedures. Ensure proper documentation of all material movements, transactions. Maintain traceability and records to support project handover and closeut.
Objectives:
  Ensure On-time delivery of SDC project material to maintain project schedule and major milestons. Drive Cost and schedule alignment by optimizing material take offs, reduce surplus and shortages, and manage long-lead items to support cost and schedule targets. Ensure material compliance with CLIENT  and Project specifications to avoid any material non-compliance and reworks issues.
