Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Assistant
Adecco is seeking a Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Assistant to join our local client. **Location:** Phoenix, AZ **Job Type:** Full-Time Monday-Friday 6AM-2:30PM **Pay: 18/hour** **Reports To:** Shipping & Receiving Manager **Job Summary:** We are seeking a dependable Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Assistant with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a truck and trailer. The ideal candidate will assist with loading and unloading trucks, verifying shipments, maintaining accurate documentation, organizing materials, and supporting daily shipping and receiving operations to meet customer needs efficiently. **Key Responsibilities:** **Truck Loading and Unloading:** + Load trucks safely and efficiently to meet customer requirements. + Photograph every load for record-keeping. + Ensure all shipping documents are signed and dated properly. + Submit all completed documentation to the Shipping & Receiving Manager. + Inspect incoming deliveries before acceptance to confirm condition and accuracy. + Unload deliveries carefully to prevent damage. + Verify each delivered item against receiver documents and purchase orders (RMP P.O.). + Sign and date all receiver documents and line items. + Submit all delivery documentation to Shipping & Receiving Manager. **Material Tagging and Location:** + Tag all products in accordance with purchase instructions. + Locate and organize materials as directed for production or shipping purposes. **Order Pulling and Packaging:** + Collaborate with the Shipping Manager to pull stock products and prepare orders for shipment daily. + Package materials appropriately to ensure safe delivery. **Shipment Verification:** + Inspect all incoming packages for damage prior to acceptance. + Notify supervisor immediately if any damage is found before signing for delivery. + Verify that incoming items match shipping documentation and purchase orders. + Date-stamp received items and note verification of each line item. + Submit verification documentation to Shipping & Receiving Manager. + Properly tag and direct materials for production use. **Yard and Inventory Management:** + Maintain an orderly yard by stacking orders neatly and organizing scrap bins and pallets. + Ensure extrusions are covered and protected in the yard. + Keep the yard clean and free of trash. + Move and restack materials on the shop floor to assist production as needed. + Assist with inventory counts and related tasks as directed. **General Assistance:** + Provide support in the shop as time and workload permit. + Perform additional duties as assigned by management. **Qualifications:** + Must have a clean driving record. + Ability to drive a truck and trailer safely and confidently. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to inspect shipments and verify accuracy. + Physically capable of loading/unloading materials and performing manual labor. + Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. + Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling preferred.
