Job Title: Material Handler/Forklift Operator – $21–$22/HR

Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)

Location: Orion, IL

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring smooth workflow and operational efficiency by staging products and transporting finished materials to and from welders.

ResponsibilitiesOperate a sit-down forklift to transport materials safely and efficiently (70% of the role).Stage and prepare materials for operators to ensure timely availability.Maintain clean and organized workstations to support a safe work environment.Assist in preparing bays for operations.Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks.Essential SkillsMinimum 1 year of experience operating a sit-down forklift.Ability to pass a forklift test, demonstrating proficiency in tight and narrow spaces.Strong understanding of safety protocols, especially when maneuvering around blind corners.Skilled in careful loading/unloading of materials, including unsecured items.Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in material handling and general labor.Familiarity with warehouse operations, production processes, inventory management, packaging, and unloading.Why Join Us?Competitive pay: $21–$22/hour.Positive team culture—employee satisfaction is a priority.Initial training provided, followed by independent work with occasional check-ins.Work EnvironmentShift: 1st shift, Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.Work outdoors in varying weather conditions (rain, cold, etc.).Facility includes a weld shop with up to 20 welders.Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
