Summary of Position:
The Material Handler III obtains products and materials to be processed, brings packing materials to the product line, and puts away any unused materials. The person in this role reads and follows work order instructions and scans finished products into QAD system. The Material Handler III also maintains a clean and audit-ready work area at all times and participates in area/line rotations as needed.
Functions of the Position:
· Drives power industrial truck (PIT) to move product fromstaging line to production line. Loads and/or dumps product into hoppers throughout the shift.
· Creates pallet ID labels and completes verifications for all materials/products brought to the lines prior to use.
· Completes daily checks of PIT equipment to maintain safety.
· Responsible for the accurate use and proper care of hand-held scanning equipment.
· Assists other material handlers/scanners as needed. Assists in training MH1’s & 2’s on duties at the line.
· Assists machine operators and supervisors as needed in other areas or other lines. Participates in moving parts to and/or from wash stations during changeovers and other tasks such as packing, stacking, and other duties performed at the line as needed.
· Maintains clean work area with tasks such as sweeping, mopping floors, and or cleaning/wiping down equipment.
Qualifications
· Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
Power industrial equipment experience required.Successfully completed training with the Material Control Department, enabling the efficient handling and processing of all scanned inventory transactions.· Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Material handling equipment certification required (JBSS Issued) - pallet jack, electric walkie stacker, electric power rider and sit-down forklift.· Skills and Competencies:
