Material Handler I
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Safely operate stand-up and LP forklifts and other material handling equipment to move raw materials and unfinished goods through the manufacturing process. + Supply production lines with the raw materials and components needed to support daily schedules. + Maintain and stage kit carts, ensuring materials are clearly labeled, organized, and ready when needed. + Follow established receiving procedures to verify, document, and store incoming materials accurately. + Maintain accurate knowledge of part numbers and home locations to support efficient material retrieval and replenishment. + Manage, consolidate, and organize inventory in the stockroom and other assigned areas to support 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards. + Participate in physical inventory and related activities, including counts, reconciliations, and variance investigations as needed. + Use lift-assistance equipment to handle products weighing more than 50 pounds, always prioritizing safe work practices. + Meet established efficiency, quality, and productivity expectations while maintaining a clean, organized work area. + Support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify work, reduce waste, and improve material flow. + Perform additional or updated duties as business needs evolve. **Who You Are:** You consistently follow safety and quality standards and take responsibility for doing work the right way, even when the pace is fast and priorities change. You plan and organize your tasks so you can meet daily goals, manage multiple demands, and keep materials flowing smoothly through the production process. You stay focused, adapt quickly when new instructions or processes are introduced, and look for practical ways to make work safer, simpler, and more efficient. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or similar environment. + Ability to safely operate stand-up and LP forklifts, and to complete Emerson’s forklift certification requirements. + Comfort working on your feet for most of the shift, including walking, standing, bending, and reaching in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to manually handle up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques, with lift-assist devices available for heavier items. + Basic verbal and written communication skills to read work instructions, complete documentation, and coordinate with team members. + Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail when handling parts, labels, and inventory records. + Willingness to work with and respect people from varied backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, contributing to an inclusive, team-oriented environment. + Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future. **Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:** + Experience with stockrooms, inventory management, or kitting processes. + Familiarity with 6S, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement practices. **Our Culture and Commitment To You:** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
