Our trucks are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.** **Summary of Job Description** The positions within Painter I perform general labor such as moving, washing, and cleaning parts. Workers may also assist with preparing parts for painting such as sanding and taping. They use basic hand tools and must maintain a clean and safe environment. **Essential Functions** + Communicate verbally with co-workers to keep a safe working environment + Lift light or heavy truck parts on and off a cart + Use basic hand tools to prepare work for the painting process + Use of a cart to push/pull equipment and parts to and from designated areas + Follow written and verbal instructions in order to keep a safe working environment to complete a task + Hanging or unhanging of parts + Assist co-workers with lifting parts off of and onto carts or hangers + Wash and clean truck parts for the painting process + Record inventory of parts that may be moved in and out of the paint department + Assist with sanding, caulking, and taping of truck parts for the painting process + Understand the differences in parts and tools + Use of a computer to locate parts + Sweep, paint, and clean shop area + Maintain a clean and safe working environment **Marginal Work Functions** _*These functions may be considered essential based on location, position, and other factors._ + Review daily paperwork* + Work overtime if needed* + Use a pneumatic sprayer to wash parts* + Operate a materials cart or forklift to transport truck parts to and from designated areas* **Basic Qualifications** + High School Diploma or equivalent education + Previous experience as a contractor or employee of Pierce **Preferred Qualifications to complete Essential Functions** + Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment **Key Abilities Needed to Complete Essential Functions** _*All positions require the ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
