**Overview**
Material Handler (EPFAB-2025-23430)
Bowhead is seeking a Material Handler to support the Engineering/Prototype shop at NSWCDD (Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.)
**Bowhead offers** :
+ Material Handling Laborer pay at $17.75 per hour plus $4.93 per hour for H&W (Health and Welfare)
+ Paid vacation accrued up to 10 days a year.
+ Paid sick leave accrued up to 7 days a year.
+ Paid 11 holidays per year.
+ Up to $175 for safety boots every two years.
+ Up to $5250 for college tuition per year.
+ Up to $5250 for training per year.
+ Prescription safety glasses provided.
**Responsibilities**
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with manufactured materials in a fast-paced shop environment. Key responsibilities include:
+ Receiving and unloading materials from delivery trucks.
+ Organizing and staging raw materials in designated areas.
+ Cutting materials to specified lengths using a band saw, as directed.
+ Safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials throughout the shop.
+ Using standard measuring tools, including dial calipers and tape measures, to verify dimensions.
+ Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting is preferred.
**Qualifications**
+ Must have a high school diploma.
+ Must have a valid driver's license.
+ Must have at least one (1) year of experience with material handling operations.
+ Basic level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Capable of using common measuring tools such as dial calipers and tape measures.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and management and respond to instructions/assignments.
+ Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
+ Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time, and be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location. Acquiring a clearance will be done with the assistance of Bowhead upon hiring unless the candidate already possesses a clearance.
