**$$ :eeg :egaAerotek is hiring a Material Handler in Delta** **Job Description** The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the safe operation and inspection of equipment at the start of each shift. The role involves using a side loader Combi, Hubtex Stand-up forklift, counterbalance forklift, or overhead crane to fulfill work orders. Packaging tasks include moving materials with overhead cranes, banding with steel or plastic binders, and protecting materials with wood or plastic. The position also requires shipping orders using an internal system, loading trucks with overhead cranes and forklifts, and managing paperwork. **Work Environment** The work environment is a unionized setting with shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, potentially switching to 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Employees work both indoors and outdoors, with a balanced mix of operating equipment and manual handling tasks. Collaboration with a team of approximately 9 people is a key aspect of this role. **Responsibilities** + Conduct pre-use inspections to ensure equipment safety. + Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to handle and transport materials. + Package materials using appropriate binding and protective methods. + Load trucks and manage shipping paperwork efficiently. + Work collaboratively with a team of around 9 people. + Prepare packaging for the following day. + Perform general cleanup of workstations. + Participate in cross-training for saw cutting, shipping, and receiving tasks. + Prioritize safety in all aspects of the job. **Essential Skills** + 1-2 years of SDCB forklift experience. + General labor and production experience. + Shipping or packaging experience in an industrial environment. + Proficiency in using an imperial tape measure. + Material handling skills in an industrial warehouse setting. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in steel industrial environments is an asset. + Overhead crane operation experience. + Inventory management skills. + First aid certification (paid extra based on level). **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.31 - $27.31/hr. **Workplace Type** This is a fully onsite position in Delta,BC. **À propos d'Aerotek:** Nous savons qu’il est difficile de trouver du travail, et qu’il est encore plus difficile de trouver un travail enrichissant.
