Material Handler (1st & 2nd Shift)
We are seeking skilled **Material Handlers** to join our team at Emerson in Sandusky, MI! In this role, you will be responsible to ship, receive, deliver parts and supplies, maintain inventory control and locate stock inventory, drive material handling equipment including the Hi-Lo and Wave 60 Lift Machine. **Open Shifts:** + 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday (6:00am-4:30pm) + 2nd Shift, Monday-Thursday (4:30pm-3:00am) with $.50 cents shift differential pay per hour **Potential Overtime Opportunities** + Friday 1 st shift (6am to 2:30pm) + Friday 2 nd shift (2:30pm to 11:00pm) with $.50 cents shift differential pay per hour **Starting Pay:** + $17.79 per hour **In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Ensures accuracy on incoming receipts by counting items and comparing the packing slip to the purchase order while checking packages for damage. + Initiates sales order process by consolidating received items or by staging items for further processing of shipments. + Stocking items in correct locations. + Delivers and retrieves materials by operating material handling equipment, including Hi-Lo and Wave 60 Lift Machine. + Assembles and prepares orders for shipment. + Maintains quality service by following organizational standards and departmental processes and procedures. + Contributes to a total team effort by being versatile in all areas and functions in the warehouse. + Observe established safe working, housekeeping procedures and promptly correct and/or notify supervisor + All supplemental duties, responsibilities, or non-essential requirements as assigned. . **Who You Are:** You’re a dedicated team player with a passion for safety and quality, thriving in a fast-paced environment where every task counts. You’re results-driven, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellence in everything you do. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + High school diploma/GED or 2 years of experience. + No experience required with high school diploma/GED; 1 year of experience is preferred. + Must have valid State Driver’s License. + Must meet the specific requirements for operating the Hi-Lo and Wave 60 Lift Machine. + Ability to be highly organized. + Work in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent interpersonal skills. + Teamwork. **PHYSICAL DEMAND:** + While performing duties may be required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist or lift, up to 45 pounds. + May be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week based on departmental needs. **WORKING ENVIRONMENT:** + Office and manufacturing environment. + May be exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease. + PPE’s may be required including safety glasses, ear plugs and safety shoes in specified areas of the plant. **Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:** + A minimum of three (2) years material handling experience + Strong teamwork skills with a proven track record to collaborate optimally in dynamic environments + Experience within fast-paced manufacturing settings **Our Culture & Commitment to You:** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
