Join us. **Job Description** We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Material Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Material Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the selection, testing, and quality control of materials used in our infrastructure projects. Your analytical skills and expertise will ensure that all materials meet required specifications and standards, contributing to the success and safety of our construction endeavors. + Assist in selecting and procuring materials based on project requirements, specifications, and industry standards + Conduct and oversee tests on construction materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications + Monitor material performance throughout the construction process and recommend adjustments or substitutions as necessary + Maintain comprehensive records of material testing, inspections, and approvals to ensure full traceability and compliance + Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials + Conduct regular site inspections to verify proper storage, handling, and installation of materials + Identify and mitigate potential risks related to materials, such as delays in delivery or non-compliance with quality standards + Ensure material selection and use comply with environmental regulations and project sustainability goals + Provide training to site engineers and construction teams on material handling and quality control measures + Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in material technologies and incorporate best practices into projects **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field + Professional engineering certification (e.g., PE) preferred + Proven experience in material engineering for infrastructure works projects + Strong knowledge of construction materials, including aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and metals + Expertise in material testing, quality control, and performance monitoring + Proficiency in material analysis software and documentation tools + Familiarity with industry standards, local building codes, and regulations in the UAE + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills + Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal + Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate records and reports + Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders + Innovative mindset to propose cost-effective and sustainable material solutions + Knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability practices in construction + Willingness to work on-site and conduct field inspections as needed **Additional Information** **About AECOM** AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
