Material Engineer

Parsons is looking for a highly qualified and experienced Material Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects related to material quality control, testing, and assurance in large-scale infrastructure projects ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications through effective planning, coordination, and implementation of QA/QC practices.
What You'll Be Doing:
Reviewing and evaluating material submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.Analyzing laboratory and technical reports, conducting acceptance sampling plans, and implementing testing and quality control measures.Ensuring the quality of construction materials used in sewerage, drainage, outfalls, pump stations, treatment works, roads, and highways.Preparing and implementing accurate QA/QC plans in alignment with international quality assurance standards.Leading and motivating the project QA/QC team, fostering collaboration and maintaining high standards of quality.Preparing clear, concise, and accurate technical reports related to material testing and quality control.Participating in all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and close-out.Planning and overseeing all project close-out requirements, ensuring proper documentation and approvals from stakeholders such as Drainage Operation and Maintenance Department, Road Maintenance Department, EBD-DCU, and municipalities.Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to obtain necessary clearances for project completion and handover.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University, subject to approval by the Engineer.Minimum of 15 years post-graduate experience, with at least 7 years in similar large-scale infrastructure projects.Extensive experience in quality control and assurance related to sewerage, drainage, road and highway construction, and related civil works.Strong background in Quality Assurance Specifications, Statistical Quality Control, and testing procedures.In-depth understanding of international standards for QA/QC and proven experience implementing these in major infrastructure projects.Ability to lead QA/QC teams, manage material testing activities, and ensure full compliance with project standards.Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
