Position Summary
Thales requires a Material Demand Planner who receives, implements, and monitors status of material orders placed on the Program.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Interface for material orders with the customer. Accountable for correct placement of material demand. Ensure materials are ordered to Program guidelines, monitoring for optimal cost and delivery time. Escalate material issues to the Supply Support Analysts.Work with Procurement and Warehouse staff to ensure material demand is correctly identified in vendor quotes. Coordinate with the Technical Material Expediter to ensure that all material is obtained to support work by the required deadlines. Oversee and assist in material order entry and purchase requisition data entry.Create material demands in the Thales material planning systems, and communicates changes to the customer as required. Prioritize, implement, track, and update material reservations to support service work. Coordinate with DND staff to align Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) with Thales ERP system for material orders and invoicing.Participate in regular team meetings, advising on material status, and recommending remedial action for any potential issues. Generate exception reports and provide regular updates on material status to internal and external stakeholders, including KPI requirements from the Program. Participate in root-cause investigations for material, as required.Minimum Qualificatons
Minimum 1-3 years’ experience working within the Military or a Defense Contract or project.Proven understanding of maintenance schedules, including working with bill of materials (BOM).Demonstrated experience working with IBM Maximo, SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.Experience working within procurement, or Supply Chain & Warehousing environments.If you’re excited about working with Thales, but not meeting the requirements for this position, we encourage you to join our Talent Community
Special Position Requirements
Schedule: 40 hours per weekPhysical Environment: Hybrid position, a mix of working from home and on-site (in office, at customer sites, or on board ships alongside in harbour)Travel: Occasional domestic travel may be required, which will include access to government facilities and assets, including naval vesselsThe anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is 55,224.97 - 94,628.98 CAD Annual . The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.
