Master Scheduler - Carpet and Finished YarnPosition Overview
The Master Scheduler is responsible for translating the OMP short range supply plan into a Carpet manufacturing plan for a given manufacturing facility(s). This role will lead and direct the manufacturing production scheduling process across multiple departments within a manufacturing facility(s), including strategic and tactical decision-making to align future supply with forecasted demand; align volume and mix within a facility(s) capacity constraint. This role will utilize advanced planning tools and analytics to meet or exceed customers’ service expectations.
Responsibilities
Utilize advanced planning tools and solvers (within the OMP Integrated Scheduling and PAC tools) to schedule carpet and/or finished yarn inventories that support a given facility(s).
Develop and maintain a comprehensive short horizon, time phased, integrated carpet and yarn supply plan that optimizes manufacturing capacities and meets desired customer service expectations (OTIF, Fill Rate).
Make effective decisions and direct prioritization in the short horizon plan to solve capacity constrained conflicts across the yarn and carpet supply within a facility(s).
Meet key metrics and departmental KPIs and objectives.
Collaborate with Master Planners (Carpet & Fiber/Yarn), Manufacturing teams (all levels) within a facility(s) to ensure that the short-range supply plans meet customer needs and expectations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
Proven experience using data analytics to solve problems
Proven ability to work across manufacturing departments or business units to drive results
Demonstrate analytical acumen and the ability to think critically at tactical and strategic levels
Demonstrate management skills that balance competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
Strong sense of urgency and takes an active role in decision making and problem solving
To become proficient in the use of analytical tools; Tableau, Data Bricks, Shaw AI, Fusion/Oracle, Smartsheet, etc.
Ability to communicate to plant leadership and the PAC (production activity control) team members information in a simple and clear manner.
Job location is at Plant 4, with occasional regional travel in GA, SC, AL and hybrid work.
Preferred
Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain concentration preferred
Prior experience with automated planning /scheduling systems (OMP)
Completed or working on CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification
Green and/or Blackbelt trained
