Watts is a leading brand with a quality reputation — and we have a dynamic future ahead.​ PURPOSE: The Master Scheduler is accountable for leading the finite scheduling function, orchestrating the creation, governance, and continuous improvement of detailed production schedules across multiple lines, products, and sites. This role ensures that tactical supply plans are effectively translated into executable, capacity-feasible schedules. As the manager of the finite schedulers, the Master Scheduler sets the standards for schedule quality, stability, and adherence, driving cross-functional alignment with Operations, Supply Planning, and Commercial teams. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that customer commitments are consistently met while maximizing utilization of manufacturing assets and enabling responsive, agile supply chain execution. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: + Leadership and Team Development + Lead, coach, and develop a team of finite production schedulers; set clear performance standards and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement + Build scheduling capabilities by providing training on systems, tools, and analytical methods; ensure succession planning + Champion cross-site and cross-line best practice sharing to advance scheduling maturity + Scheduling Ownership + Govern the translation of supply plans into executable, time-phased production schedules across lines + Establish and enforce scheduling policies and standards (e.g., changeover logic, sequencing rules, schedule horizon) + Ensure finite schedules maximize adherence to S&OP and S&OE commitments while optimizing capacity, labor, and changeover efficiency + Cross-Functional Partnership + Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality leaders to resolve systemic scheduling issues, integrate downtime planning, and support stable execution + Partner with Customer Service and Commercial teams to safeguard ATP (available-to-promise) and proactively communicate service risks + Act as escalation point for schedule conflicts or urgent order requests; guide “what-if” analysis and decision support + Data, Systems and Reporting + Collaborate with engineering on master data accuracy for scheduling parameters (rates, yields, changeovers, constraints) and ensure integration with ERP/MES systems + Monitor and report key scheduling KPIs (e.g. schedule adherence) + Lead root cause analysis for service or schedule adherence misses; drive corrective and preventive actions + Process Improvement + Participate in and propose continuous improvement events (e.g. Kaizen) to enhance schedule stability and reduce lead times + Establish governance for standard work, playbooks, and knowledge sharing across the scheduling team EMPLOYEE CORE COMPETENCIES: + Collaborate Across Workgroups + Initiate Positive Change + Deliver High Quality Results + Focus on the Customer + Develop Self and Others + Accountability EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field. + APICS certification strongly preferred + 7+ years of experience in production scheduling or shop floor planning in a manufacturing environment + Strong MRP knowledge + SAP experience preferred + Excellent knowledge in capacity planning + Good mathematical and analytical skills + Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and computer skills + Ability to influence across functions without direct authority + Proven leadership skills: team development, influencing cross-functional partners, and driving results MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISON: Team of schedulers PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is $96,000- $113,000 yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
