Master Scheduler has the responsibility of establishing, managing, reviewing and maintaining a valid schedule for selected items. This position will have a great impact on internal/external customer service, supply chain, inventory, material and capacity planning and requires minimal supervision.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:Identifies, negotiates and resolves conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity
Quotes deliveries dates for sales requests within the defined lead time
Develops and maintains communication channels between various departments to maintain the production flow rates
Actively works on reducing inventory/ lead times, production improvements, and efficiencies
Actively looks for improvements in the planning/ scheduling process in addition to maintaining part parameters such as planner codes, lead times and safety stocks
Creates planning BOM's and looks for ways to add phantoms and change BOM structure to improve production efficiency
Works with both sales and operations globally to provide timely feedback regarding all requested schedule changes
Communicates when demand cannot be met and recommends alternatives on how the requested demand could be satisfied
Releases and manages production orders
Reviews, identifies and resolves material shortages with the appropriate supplier(s)
Schedules raw material/purchase components through product release (i.e. "billet to box")
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:A minimum of 3 years experience in a scheduling role
Manufacturing processes knowledgE
Understands and maintains a master production schedule with the ability to use and revise that schedule to achieve business objectives
Good knowledge of particularly MRP related screens (e.g. SAP)
Solid knowledge of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII)
Solid knowledge of Planning functions/roles
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written across all levels of the organization
Solid detail orientation and organizational skills. Ability to schedule several production lines at the same time
Solid process and product knowledge
Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
Solid knowledge of Woodward replenishment programs
Ability to contribute to Continuous Improvement projects and problem solving
