*Description*
Summary:
To perform all phases of lock repairs, lock installations, door hardware repairs, door hardware installations, key duplications and keys cut by code in a timely, cost effective manner, with a high emphasis on quality and safety. Also maintain a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing environment by assisting Building Services Employees with maintaining the building in a cost effective manner.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform all phases of lock repairs and installations in a timely and cost effective manner with a high emphasis on quality and safety, meeting all current building codes and standards.
2. Assures patient/visitor security is maintained or improving the physical security of the building.
3. Performs skilled lock repairs and installations to hospital fixtures and equipment.
4. Modernizes existing security, improving workflow and environment for patients and employees.
5. Conducts projects inside departments with minimal impact, allowing departments to remain operational throughout completion of projects.
6. Works alongside with other trades to accomplish projects quickly and efficiently.
7. Plans and implements special projects as needed.
8. Maintains a safe and clean environment by doing daily rounds and inspections of 250,000 to 1 million square feet.
9. Maintains, repairs and/or replaces patient equipment as needed.
10. Able to coordinate and oversee all housekeeping and repair responsibilities on weekends and Holidays.
11. Performs skilled maintenance and repairs to the interior of the hospital's buildings.
12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: ASSOCIATE'S LVL DGRE
Other Information:
Required: Minimum of 7 years job-related experience.
Minimum Experience: seven years or more
Desired: Knowledge of computers and back up supervisors skills to cover for Assistant Chief Engineers.
Working Conditions:
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Some occupational risk
Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
