This is a part-time position working evenings and some weekends for a total of 1-3 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Master Instructor – Sports, you will be leading comprehensive programs for volleyball, football, soccer, tennis, hockey, floor hockey, badminton or basketball to meet the needs of all registered adult, youth and/or child participants. You must be a skilled player capable of coaching and instructing a wide range skill sets related to your scheduled sport.  You will also be expected to act as a knowledgeable resource to participants and their families and ensure that instruction is conducted in a safe environment that encourages participation and personal development.

Provide sport instruction to program registrantsArrive at your program site in time to properly prepare, set up and start the program according to scheduleDevelop a detailed program plans for a variety of ages and skill levelsFollow the class format and content as requiredEnsure on-site safety of participantsDeliver exceptional customer service (including welcoming, conduct and communication) to all participantsProvide detailed feedback and progress and personal development plans to registrants and parents of registrantsConduct Program Administration (attendance tracking, registration update, incident reports as required)Work cooperatively and supervise instructor assistants and youth volunteersLiaise with Facility Manager, Program Supervisor, Facility Operations and Customer Service staffNotify the Recreation Coordinator/Fitness of any problems and/or recommendations regarding participants, courts or facilities, which may affect the programAttend staff meetings as requestedMeet with prospective customers to provide program information and to encourage participationOther duties as assignedQualifications:Emergency First Aid with AED/CPR B or Standard First Aid with AED/CPR CHIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification is a requirementProven experience with children, youth and adultsCoaching Certification and/or rep playing experience is considered an assetDemonstrated ability in volleyball, football, soccer, tennis, hockey, floor hockey, badminton, basketball or skateboarding requiredAbility to work with limited supervisionAccess to reliable transportationSuccessful candidates, who are new hires and/or who have not performed in this position previously will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check, with vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 30 days as a condition of employmentMust possess valid Standard First Aid with CPR C (Emergency First Aid) certification
