A Mason & Plasterer is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and enhancing the physical structure and aesthetic quality of guest rooms or hotel buildings. The role ensures that guest areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior structures are safe, visually appealing, and meet the high standards expected in the hospitality industry to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience.
What will I be doing?
As a Mason & Plasterer, you are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Key Responsibilities:
Perform masonry and plastering work for walls, ceilings, floors, facades, and decorative features within the guest room/hotel.
Repair cracks, holes, or damaged surfaces promptly to maintain a high standard of presentation.
Apply plaster, mortar, or cement to prepare and finish surfaces according to design specifications.
Construct, restore, or reinforce stonework, brickwork, and other structural elements as needed.
Collaborate with the maintenance and engineering team to address urgent guest-related repair requests.
Follow blueprints or instructions for remodeling, renovation, or decorative projects.
Ensure all work meets safety standards, building codes, and hospitality quality standards.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
Assist in preventive maintenance to minimize disruptions in guest areas.
Skills & Competencies:
Expertise in masonry and plastering techniques with a focus on high-quality finishes.
Ability to work discreetly and efficiently in guest areas without causing inconvenience.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to aesthetic standards.
Familiarity with materials, tools, and equipment used in masonry and plastering.
Physical stamina and dexterity for lifting materials and performing precise work.
Team player with good communication skills.
Qualifications:
Vocational training or a diploma in masonry, plastering, or construction.
Prior experience in hospitality or commercial settings is preferred.
Knowledge of safety procedures and building regulations.
Ability to work flexible hours
