Reporting to the Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications, the Sr. Group Marketing Operations and Insights Manager is responsible for facilitating strategic prioritization and commercial marketing excellence by:
+ Accelerating **commercial enablement** through strong partnership with marketing and field leadership teams, primarily focused on the US region
+ Developing **analytical** capability to measure impact of key marketing programs and initiatives
+ Creating, measuring and distributing dashboards on the impact of **digital marketing** strategies
+ Providing **actionable insights** to help shape data-driven decision makingImplementing **operational innovation** to enhance the capabilities of the commercial marketing organization
Success in the role will rely heavily on the ability manage matrixed cross-functional teams , synthesize complex data into succinct findings, derive strategic insights, and communicate findings and perspectives to all levels of the organization, including senior and executive management, global partners, and US field team members. The role requires extensive knowledge of how the marketing organization functions and the ability to form strong partnerships with commercial and functional leaders.
The Sr. Group Marketing Operations and Insights Manager will lead a newly formed team to focus on the delivery of analytics and insights. The Manager will lead the creation of business metrics and reporting, develop infrastructure to enhance marketing effectiveness, and facilitate a unified and prioritized effort across the function. This person would be a results-oriented leader who demonstrates strategic thinking while delivering the right level of detailed information. Additionally, this leader would provide guidance to the team on stakeholder engagement, data visualization and reporting, channel management, source attainment and analytical assessments. The Manager would work collaboratively with CRM Marketing leaders to support critical decision making resulting in strategic prioritization, customer segmentation and sales enablement.
This role will report into the the VP of Global Marketing and Communications to assist in facilitating effective decision making, coordinating the execution of strategic initiatives and manage progress reporting on goals established in accordance with the strategic plan.
**A Day in the Life:**
+ Facilitate effective decision making and execution of strategy in alignment with the vision and strategic direction of the marketing organization.
+ Lead and develop a team of individual contributors
+ Serve as the hub for all marketing organization, global, and US field communications.
+ Ensure consistent methods of measurement across channels and audience.
+ Align timing of critical programs cross function to ensure adequate field focus and full support from the various marketing functions.
+ Collaborate with marketing leadership to develop annual and quarterly goals, metrics for the team, track progress and report on performance.
+ Function as a thought partner and serve in an advisory capacity to marketing and commercial leadership teams.
+ Facilitate operations functions in coordination with global marketing and commercial leaders, finance, and other relevant partners. This includes, but is not limited to, annual budgeting and planning, marketing enablement, strategic communication, digital infrastructure, analytics, data management, dashboard generation, and insights sharing.
+ Lead the preparation (via cross-functional stakeholder management) of key marketing team deliverables.
+ Create, manage and develop a new Marketing Operations and Insights organization.
+ Support the annual strategic planning processes (e.g. 10Q, Strat Plan, AOP,, etc) for the CRM division, focusing on marketing needs, working in collaboration with the senior leadership team.
+ Develop processes to facilitate functional alignment to strategic plans and objectives for CRM marketing.
+ Coordinate and lead strategic initiatives for the marketing function and global partners through strategic prioritization, meeting facilitation, and functional analytics.
+ Lead analytics for commercial marketing team, through development of comprehensive and standardized view of activities across the commercial marketing functions, lead scoring and insights into relative impact of programs and activities.
+ Prepare business proposals, make strategic recommendations, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans.
+ Build a digital infrastructure to support future marketing endeavors.
+ Develop and execute a Global and US communications strategy (including channel development).
+ Triage and respond to urgent business issues and opportunities as they arise.
Independently develop and share insights to help position business for success.
Must Have:
+ REQUIRED EDUCATION:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
+ REQUIRED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
+ 7+ years with increasing responsibility in marketing and/or sales, with strong preference for medical device experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 5+ years marketing and/or sales experience.
+ REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
+ Clear structured thinking with ability to take concepts from idea to action
+ Proven track record recruiting, leading and developing teams
+ Strong analytical mindset and ability to make data-driven decisions
+ Strong marketing fundamentals in targeting, segmentation, positioning and channel management
+ Global mindset
+ Ability to collaborate with sales, marketing, regions, and functions as well as customers
+ Experience developing and executing new strategic approaches
+ Proven track record of building cross-functional allies
Nice to Have:
+ MBA or Master's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
+ 5+ years people management experience with proven ability to lead and motivate team
+ Typically has broad practical experience across multiple professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and the organization’s business practices.
+ Experience in medical devices, healthcare, management consulting and/or investment banking desirable
+ Experience in a Business Development and/or Strategy function
+ Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills Power BI, ability to build and maintain dashboards
+ Demonstrated success in people or program management
+ Strong strategic and analytical thinker
+ Experience generating creative new business ideas and strategies
+ Experience leading or managing teams and change initiatives
+ Outstanding analytical abilities, financial acumen and business judgment
+ Experience in financial modeling including the ability to perform sensitivity analyses and critically interpret the results
+ Experience with developing strategic business plans
+ Strong understanding of market research techniques and ability to draw conclusions from the data
+ Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex strategies and data in a clear and concise manner

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$156,000.00 - $234,000.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
