Marketing Manager -12 month secondment

Join our dynamic UK Demand Generation team and play a pivotal role in driving acquisition for American Express Business Cards across the small business audience. You will be responsible for delivering Above the Line campaigns from conception to execution, working closely with creative and media agencies and ensuring each campaign delivers against several KPIs. The team’s remit is to execute successful product launches, building awareness, driving consideration and purchase intent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Design compelling and innovative campaigns, including development of positioning, messaging, value proposition and go-to-market strategy in synergy with Product Management, Sales and Brand.

Lead go-to-market plans, articulating project statuses and ensure excellent execution across all marketing functions internally.

Provide outstanding creative leadership and challenge agencies to deliver best in class and innovative campaigns.

Ensure that product messaging hierarchy and assets ladder up to overall brand messaging.

Develop impactful plans utilising relevant media for our target audience in the most efficient way.

Day to day management of all Above the Line campaigns.

Review competitive activity and changing market needs to facilitate adjustments on strategy if needed.

Liaise with other markets to share and reapply best practices.

Constantly analyse and evaluate brand and campaign performance and initiate corrective actions.

Influence upwards – ensuring your plans and ideas have agreement across the senior members of the business and stakeholders are engaged at the right times.

Ensure all activities are carried out cost effectively, efficiently and within budget.

Stay informed on the latest trends our audiences are consuming and engaging with, maintaining links with the industry, and incorporating fresh research or approaches into marketing plans where relevant.

Coach, motivate and develop 2 acquisition marketing executives and support the ongoing development of wider team culture.

Required Skills/Qualifications: 

Solid marketing experience of working on a well-known brand. Ideally, you’ll also have commercial awareness.

Experience of all core marketing competencies: launching NPD, developing campaigns and end to end executions, budget management and a consistent record of using data to drive business results.

Good experience across all touchpoints: advertising, media, social and digital.

Curious, determined with ‘can-do’ attitude and passion to build and grow brands.

Strong perspective on key digital and media trends in the market landscape.

Well versed in presenting, challenging, and managing senior stakeholders with confidence.

Operational efficiency with work delivered on time, to a high standard, and to budget and great quality.

Resilient and calm under pressure.
