Responsibilities

The Ascension Via Christi Market Vice President of Finance (VP Finance) provides strategic and operational financial leadership in alignment with organizational policies and objectives. This executive role oversees the business insights department. Reporting directly to the Ascension Kansas Market CFO, the VP Finance collaborates closely with the Kansas Market CSO and the Kansas Hospital Presidents, CFOs, COOs, CMOs, and CNOs to drive financial performance and support long-term organizational success.


DUTIES include but are not limited to:

Lead efforts to analyze and identify opportunities to reduce operating costs and increase revenue, based on financial data, market trends, and operational procedures.Identify unfavorable financial trends and emerging business opportunities, offering strategic recommendations to hospital and market leadership.Support the Market CFO in developing short and long term operational plans, including demand forecasting, resource analysis, and cost-benefit evaluations for capital and staffing proposals.Develop operational budgets aligned with the market’s strategic objectives.Forecast the financial impact of strategic business decisions and assess expected outcomesAssist hospital leaders to implement best practices and identify improvement and cost-savings initiatives.Assess clinical and financial opportunities including:Throughput initiativesLOSi initiativesUtilization initiativesImprovement opportunitiesPerform monitoring of throughput metrics and analysis of variances.Perform data mining and review of financial and clinical data to assess for operational and financial opportunities.Assist in designing meaningful and realistic action plans for the implementation of process improvement ideas.Assist with coordination of mid-month projection process.Provide financial support and function as financial liaison for certain non-hospital entities.Administer rolling forecast and operational budgeting process.Complete proforma’s for new business opportunities.Coordinate training and function as liaison with Ascension national cost accounting.Serve as financial support for preparation of community benefit report.Coordinate quarterly market share reporting for Kansas

QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years professional experience;4+ years relevant work experienceMust be proficient in written and verbal skillsExperience within healthcare operations requiredMaster's degree preffered

Education:

Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.
