As a leading developer, manufacturer, and global supplier of scientific laboratory products for 100 years, Corning’s Life Sciences segment collaborates with researchers seeking new approaches to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and compress timelines in the drug discovery process. Using unique expertise in the fields of materials science, surface science, optics, biochemistry and biology, the segment provides innovative solutions that improve productivity and enable breakthrough discoveries.

Role Purpose

As part of Corning Life Science’s Market & Business Strategy Team, this role will be responsible for leading detailed research and analysis on assigned market intelligence topics in support of business strategy and planning activities.  Analytics will also be applied internally to evaluate select business opportunities.   Time will flex between ongoing analyst activities and project-based assignments. 

Key Responsibilities Conduct market research – primary and secondary – related to existing or new business.  Analyses include areas such as:  End market growth rates and trends, product preference, technology and product potential, market size, and CLS share. Scope includes regional and global views. Perform various analytics – financial, comparative, etc. to develop understanding of market environment and related business impacts Analyze and monitor market indicators (such as NIH budget funding etc.) and correlate performance with CLS performance; identify leading and lagging economic indicators Track quarterly earnings performance of market participants and prepare report(s) on relevant findings for leadership including actionable insights Participate in key industry conferences and facilitate market intelligence gathering process to include items such as site visits and news monitoring Synthesize data and transform to insights to drive actions and change. Experiences/Education - Required BS in Business, Engineering, or related Field; MBA preferred 5+ years overall work experience, with 1-3 years in market research or analysis Experience within the Life Sciences/Medical Device or Diagnostics Industry. Cross-Functional Team experience (Program or project management) Work experience with a Fortune 500 company Experience with developing business insights based on detailed quantitative analysis Experiences/Education - Desired Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills including for executive audiences. Analytical with ability to synthesize and simplify large sets of complex information and convert to business relevant conclusions. Ability to influence without authority Business acumen Dealing with Ambiguity Strategic Agility Disciplined and self-driven Ability to prioritize and direct focus on key priorities

The range for this position is $100,409.00 - $138,063.00  assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
