The Market Director Palliative Care will be responsible for the overall clinical and financial operations of the Palliative Care Programs. May help facilitate palliative care for patients, ensuring a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan, while demonstrating excellent clinical skills and ethical, relevant judgement. Provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow up under the direction of the Palliative Medical Director (if required under State law).
Essential Functions Establish, implement, and evaluate goals and objectives for palliative care that meet and promote high standards of quality clinical care and sound financial success.Meet growth and development targets, both clinically and financiallyManage all expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner in accordance with the Company’s budget. Responsible for the employment of qualified palliative care personnel and the provision of palliative care services and the delegation and coordination of personnel evaluations. Collaborates with clinicians and/ or Medical Director to address patient needs.Establish and maintain standards of high quality care and customer service in compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines. May provide skilled professional nursing care to patients as prescribed by the MD/NP and in compliance with regulations by the State Board of Registered Nursing and company policies. Provides education or support to patient’s/families/caregivers. About YouSpecialized Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational, problem solving, decision-making, assertiveness, presentation and communication skills required.Knowledge of seriously ill patients and their families and understanding of palliative care and the ability to apply knowledge to the special needs of palliative care patients.Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of Kindred at Home and licensing board.Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.Some Travel may be required.Education/Experience:
Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner with Home Health, Hospice and/or Palliative Care Experience preferredBachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent experience and knowledge in Health Care Operations required.Master’s degree in business or related field preferred. Minimum of 2+ years health care administration/operations management requiredCertified in Hospice and Palliative Care - preferredPrior experience with budgetary responsibilities including budget development and monitoring required.Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid, Commercial insurance billing and reimbursement, and value based care.Training/Equipment:
Fluent competence in computer and smart phone navigation.Working knowledge of, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.Must have and maintain reliable transportation to be used for work. Must have and maintain current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license.Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Travel as needed to support marketMust be able to work some nights/weekends and be available for administrative on call.
