Market Development Specialist

We are looking for a Market Development Specialist to join the Inside Sales team to extend our customer reach across multiple markets in multiple segments and in multiple disciplines. The position will be based remotely in the US and will report to the Director, Field & Channel Marketing.

This individual plays a critical role in EFI’s sales process by developing, qualifying, and nurturing leads, while providing administrative and sales cycle support to sales representatives. This hybrid position combines the prospecting and pipeline management focus of a Marketing Representative with the relationship-building and solution validation skills of an Inside Sales Representative.

What you will do:

·        Hold primary responsibility for lead development and qualification.

·        Maintain supporting responsibility in solution validation and early-to-mid stages of the sales cycle.

·        Provide limited responsibility in the final closing stage, serving as an administrator and partner to sales reps to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

Lead Development & Qualification (Primary Responsibility)

·        Proactively research, source, and develop new leads through outbound calls, inbound inquiries, email campaigns, LinkedIn, trade journals, and industry databases.

·        Engage prospects in consultative conversations to uncover needs, qualify opportunities, and create a complete business profile.

·        Maintain detailed notes and documentation in Salesforce.com (or similar CRM) for accurate tracking, reporting, and handoff to sales reps.

·        Meet and exceed daily/weekly/monthly quotas for calls, qualified leads, and opportunity creation.

·        Monitor industry news, trade press, and digital channels to identify potential new opportunities.

Sales Cycle Support (Supporting Responsibility)

·        Partner with sales reps to validate EFI’s proposed solutions against customer requirements.

·        Coordinate product demonstrations and support ROI/value messaging to prospects.

·        Assist with pipeline forecasting, reporting, and CRM database integrity.

·        Provide support on proposal preparation, follow-up actions, and early-stage engagement materials.

Closing Support (Limited Responsibility)

·        After solution validation, provide administrative coordination to help sales reps through negotiations and closing stages.

·        Ensure CRM updates, deal documentation, and follow-up communications are completed for a seamless sales process.

·        Track opportunities through closure to measure lead-to-deal conversion success.

·        Customer Relationship Management & Administration

·        Establish and maintain positive relationships with prospects and customers, serving as a trusted first point of contact.

·        Maintain a consistent communication cadence with assigned accounts to ensure awareness of new opportunities.

·        Act as a liaison between prospects/customers and EFI sales reps, ensuring smooth handoffs and follow-through.

·        Provide general sales administration support to reduce workload for sales reps and improve efficiency across the team.

This role may be a good fit if you have:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School diploma with equivalent experience accepted.2+ years of experience in sales development, inside sales, account management, or a similar customer-facing role.Proven ability to meet call, lead, and opportunity quotas in a fast-paced, high-activity environment.Strong technical proficiency with Salesforce.com (or similar CRM), Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based demo/presentation tools.Excellent communication skills with a professional, consultative, and engaging phone/email presence.Ability to write clear, coherent, and grammatically correct notes and reports.Customer-service orientation with persistence, patience, and a positive attitude.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across the sales organization.Consultative selling and solution validation mindset.Strong research and prospecting skills using digital, social, and traditional methods.Detail-oriented with commitment to CRM/data accuracy.Ability to build relationships with decision makers and influencers across multiple industries (print, packaging, textile, corrugated, and industrial).Self-starter with high energy and a drive to contribute to the team’s success.Willingness to balance front-line sales activity with administrative support duties.

The total compensation for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within the United States.

$80,000-$100,000

The successful candidate's total compensation will fall within the pay range listed above and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Compensation is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future. The compensation range for this job is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
