PURPOSE:
This role will assist the parent company in providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for a representative office setup, focusing on market development and customer liaison management for all Lubrizol segments, including Additives and Advanced Materials. The Market Research Manager is responsible for the overall operations of Lubrizol in Vietnam.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Country Leader Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Oversee the operations of the representative office in Vietnam, ensuring alignment with the license for establishment of Lubrizol representative office in Vietnam (“RO License”), applicable laws and regulations of Vietnam, global strategies, and local market needs across all segments. Government Relations: Assist the parent company in establishing local government relations to ensure regulatory compliance and leveraging market opportunities to support the overall growth objectives and strategic initiatives set by the SEA Sub-Region Growth Leader. Cross-functional Collaboration: Assist the parent company in collaborating across business segments and functions to ensure integrated efforts towards market development and customer satisfaction. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with Lubrizol’s policies, ethical standards, RO License, and local regulatory requirements for a representative office. Financial Oversight: Assist the parent company in overseeing the financial management of the representative office, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting within the limitations of the office's activities in accordance with the RO License and applicable laws and regulations of Vietnam. Risk Management: Assist the parent company in defining and managing risks associated with the operations of the representative office in Vietnam. Reporting: Assist the parent company in preparing regular reports and forecasts, analyze performance metrics, and present findings and recommendations to regional and global senior management.
Market Research and Promotion:
Promote Lubrizol Products: Assist the parent company in cooperating with the local partners and/or service providers to actively promote Lubrizol's entire range of products, including Additives and Advanced Materials, in the local market to increase brand awareness and market penetration. Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research and provide local market and customer information to the parent company, supporting strategic decision-making across all product lines. Support and Liaison Activities: Provide support and liaison activities for Lubrizol parent company in Singapore, ensuring seamless communication and coordination. Customer Support: Assist the parent company in providing local customers with detailed information about Lubrizol products, responding to inquiries and offering technical support across all product segments. Team Leadership: Supervise and guide direct reports, ensuring their professional development and performance alignment with organizational goals.
This role will focus on strengthening Lubrizol’s market presence, fostering innovation, and ensuring compliance with the Rep. Office license, and local regulations governing representative offices in Vietnam.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree: Preferably in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or similar) is highly desirable. Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within the chemical or additives industry. Country Management Experience: Proven track record of managing business operations within Vietnam, including experience in both Additives and Advanced Materials segments is highly desirable.

Strategic Leadership: Strong ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with global/regional strategies and local market needs. Operational Management: Expertise in overseeing business operations, including financial oversight, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of sales strategy development, customer relationship management, and market analysis. Cross-functional Collaboration: Effective collaboration skills to work across diverse business segments and functions for integrated business success
