Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (J&J IM) is recruiting for a **Market Access** **Lead** located in **Ljubljana** , **Slovenia.**
**Role Summary:**
The Market Access Lead Slovenia is responsible for the development and implementation of the market access strategy to achieve rapid and sustained patient access for our new medicines and indications across the lifecycle of our innovations. This will be achieved by the development of robust strategic planning processes, explicit market access strategies founded on deep customer insights & delivery of optimal value propositions to decision makers. The Head of Market Access is also expected to influence the external environment through relationship building and engagement with key stakeholders and customers. The individual will lead the local Market Access team and contribute to the company’s overall strategic decision-making as a member of the J&J IM Slovenia Management Board.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the Market Access team responsible for Health Economics, Market Access, Pricing & Reimbursement.
+ Understand customer behavior and build value propositions based on mutual interest, all with the ultimate end-goal in mind: to improve patient access to valuable and innovative treatments, whilst helping to move the Slovenian system in a direction of outcomes focus.
+ Ensure sustainable prices and access for our innovations going forward and ensure that our short- and long-term business objectives will be reached. Price monitoring, prediction and collaboration with our European colleagues and with colleagues from other operating companies will be an important element.
+ Continuously scan our future portfolio and will be responsible for defining optimal access strategies well in advance.
+ Keeps track of (changing) access policies and works on the optimal preparation of value propositions according to future stakeholder needs and reimbursement policies and makes sure to appropriately inform the colleagues in the organization about changing requirements.
+ Ensure that stakeholders refer to the right data when it comes to the impact our innovations will have on society, both in terms of outcomes as well as budget impact.
+ In close collaboration with involved colleagues, he or she will contribute to all access negotiation processes in the broadest sense of the word. With a broad knowledge, experience, and a challenging attitude, he or she will contribute to the overall negotiation skills and results in the department by collaborating with and coaching of other involved colleagues.
+ Initiates, maintains and further develops relationships with the key stakeholders in this area, particularly ZZZS (insurance company, the Ministry of Health etc.
+ Shaping the external environment is a key part of the role through own interactions and through the industry association and relevant professional platforms.
+ Talent Development is prominently on the radar at J&J IM. He or she will therefore be responsible for continuous development of the members of his/her department, thereby ensuring continuity and future success of our company.
+ In his/her role as management board member, he or she will be expected to contribute to the total company strategy and execution, as well as to ensuring that we optimally collaboration within our matrix structure.
**Qualifications:**
**_Education:_**
+ University Bachelor’s degree, preferably in health economics, healthcare management or another life science discipline.
+ PhD and/or MBA preferred.
+ A track record of continued post-academic (self-) development.
**_Experience and Skills:_**
+ Experience with realizing access to innovations, either in another healthcare company or in a consultancy context is an absolute must-have. Working experience in a corporate environment is a plus.
+ Extensive experience with negotiations, not necessarily in the pharmaceutical industry.
+ Knowledge of the current market access landscape with in-depth knowledge of the Slovenian healthcare landscape, including existing networks and its principal stakeholders and the Slovenian access, pricing and reimbursement system.
+ Experience and track record of successful negotiations with governmental bodies and/or large companies
+ +10 years experience in a large, preferably commercially oriented environment, preferably in healthcare or consultancy.
+ A solid network of important pharma stakeholders that can be consulted pro-actively in business relevant topics.
+ Experience with people management, and particularly in a matrix organization with proven success in connecting (interests of) internal stakeholders. Ample experience with effectively leading and developing teams: a track record of building winning teams.
+ Strong pharma knowledge: the product lifecycle (from development till late life cycle management), solutions, databases (RWE), patient pathway requirements, etc.
+ Strong passion and track record in balancing strategic and tactical work on a daily basis requiring being able to quickly zoom in and out, with a can-do mentality.
+ Strong partnering skills. Intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, business acumen, self-awareness and adaptability.
+ Ability to move around in a political landscape, strong social sensitivity, strong societal responsibility, team player.
+ High level of verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening and the ability to speak and write persuasively.
+ Strong analytical skills, combined with critical and creative thinking.
