About the Opportunity
Our client is a global leader in LPG shipping, operating one of the world’s largest fleets of Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) and Medium Gas Carriers (MGCs). With over five decades of experience, a growing presence in LPG infrastructure, and a pioneering approach to dual-fuel propulsion technology, they are setting new standards in clean energy transportation.
As part of their continued growth in the Americas, they are seeking a Marine Superintendent to join their Houston office. This is a key role supporting day-to-day marine operations for vessels trading in the US and Caribbean, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities Act as the primary liaison with authorities, partners, and customers in the region Support LPG vessels calling in the US and Caribbean in coordination with global teams Assist with USCG inspections, SIRE/CDI audits, and other regulatory matters Coordinate defect reporting and pre-arrival compliance for US port calls Facilitate communication with local agents, suppliers, and service providers Lead or support incident investigations and internal audits (ISM, cargo, mooring, navigation) Ensure SMS policies align with US regulations and contribute to continuous improvement Deliver onboard training programs and participate in safety campaigns Conduct risk assessments and support vessel operations during US daytime hours Candidate Profile Essential Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years sailing experience as a senior deck officer on gas tankers Strong knowledge of applicable maritime regulations and industry standards Excellent command of English (spoken and written) Legal permit to work in the United States is essential Personal Attributes:
