Job Title: Marine Engineering Programmer Location: Spring, Texas Type: Contract Compensation: $75+ hourly Contractor Work Model: Hybrid Job Description The Engineering Applications team based in the Headquarters Office in Texas is seeking an engineer to: + Develop and test engineering applications for ships and offshore structures + Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and create modularized software code + Ensure the development and unit testing in accordance with established standards + Participate in reviews of solution designs and related codes + Analyze and resolve technical and application problems and identify opportunities for improvement. + Package and support deployment of releases + Provide technical support for internal and external users Required Skills + Ability to use .NET/C# or equivalent and Visual Studio 2019 + + Familiar with coding in FORTRAN + Experience with ship or offshore structural analysis and finite element method Education and Experience + Completion of an engineering curriculum from a university (B.S. or above). Majoring in marine and offshore engineering, ocean engineering, naval architecture, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent is preferred. + Relevant engineering experience in a classification society, shipyard, marine or offshore design/consulting office, CAD or engineering software company, software development company, or research institution is a plus.
