Manufacturing Training Manager

The Training Manager is responsible for managing and assisted with designing and developing all training processes at the East Coast Bakery (ECB), ensuring programs are effectively implemented, coordinated, and executed to support operational excellence. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Learning & Talent Development, this role oversees the full lifecycle of team member training while ensuring alignment with production, quality, safety, and compliance standards. By partnering with department and plant leadership, the Training Manager ensures consistent, high-quality training delivery across departments. Leveraging data-driven insights and performance metrics, this role continuously improves training effectiveness, drives employee engagement and retention, and enhances overall operational performance, while supporting enterprise learning initiatives as needed. Here’s more of what you’ll get to do: • Partner with department leaders to identify training needs, establish clear goals, and design targeted programs that drive performance, engagement, and retention. • Oversee and continuously enhance new hire orientation and onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration, maximize early-stage engagement, and reduce attrition. • Create and manage training content focused on leadership development for managers, supervisors, and crew leaders, equipping them with the skills to effectively lead their teams • Deliver engaging training sessions for employees at all levels through workshops, coaching, and hands-on instruction to support skill development and operational excellence. • Oversee administrative processes, maintaining accurate documentation and recordkeeping for all training conducted at the East Coast Bakery (ECB). • Manage programs aimed at upskilling employees and providing specialized training for skilled positions across all departments, ensuring alignment with production, quality, and safety standards. • Coordinate the assignment and deployment of Master Trainers and Certified Trainers to deliver training for new hire onboarding, skilled position certification, and frontline leader development within the Production department. • Apply project management principles to plan, execute, and oversee training initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, efficient resource utilization, and alignment with organizational objectives. • Utilize root cause analysis, training metrics, flowcharts, and other analytic tools to identify challenges, recommend solutions, and measure the effectiveness of training programs. • Assist with the ongoing evaluations of all training programs and processes to ensure content remains relevant, effective, and aligned with operational and organizational goals. • Select and implement the most effective instructional approaches, including individual coaching, group workshops, and hands-on demonstrations, to maximize learning outcomes at the ECB. • Assist in creating and updating training manuals, handbooks, visual aids, and other materials to ensure content accuracy and consistency. • Evaluate employee test results, performance metrics, and behavioral outcomes post-training; provide actionable insights and recommendations to management. • Continuously seek opportunities to improve training content, delivery methods, and program outcomes while collaborating with leadership to achieve ECB’s overall training and development objectives. • Coordinate with the Senior Manager of Learning and Talent Development to support learning initiatives and projects at the West Coast Bakery (WCB) as needed. What we require: • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of training employees at all levels, preferably within a food manufacturing environment. • Education Requirements: o Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field required. o Master’s degree in Learning & Development, Organizational Leadership, or a related discipline is preferred but not required. o Equivalent experience in training, leadership development, or manufacturing operations may be considered in lieu of a degree. • Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and guide training teams while managing people and processes effectively. • Bilingual Proficiency: Must be fluent in both Spanish and English. • Project Management: Strong skills in planning, coordinating, and executing multiple initiatives while meeting deadlines and business objectives. • Instructional Expertise: Deep understanding of adult learning principles and diverse instructional methodologies. • Strategic Training Development: Ability to design training plans, schedules, and programs aligned with operational and organizational goals. • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with a focus on collaboration and driving results. • Flexibility & Adaptability: Must be willing to adjust to business needs, including supporting various shifts and working hours as required. • Customer & Business Focus: Desire to work in a customer-oriented, results-driven environment with a focus on operational excellence. • Multi-Tasking & Execution: Skilled at handling multiple priorities and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Integrity & Dependability: Demonstrates a high degree of reliability, accountability, and ethical standards. • Technical Skills: o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). o Experienced in Learning Management Systems (LMS), including CheesecakeU or equivalent platforms, for managing, deploying, and tracking training programs. o Skilled in e-learning content development tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools) for designing engaging digital training materials. What we prefer: Master’s degree in HR, Learning and Development/ Adult Learning, Organizational Development or similar program. 5+ years’ experience in training employees at all levels; with operations experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong experience with change management and project management. ATD Certified Professional credential (Association of training and development).
