Manufacturing-Process Improvement Group Leader- Tainan
Context

Supervises work of 3~5 direct reports with different activities in nature and objective, that require bachelor/master thinking level and are mainly High job grade managers, with a total scope of more than 30 people.

Responsible for multiple and diverse/complex work centers, competences or shifts with a larger technical scope or complex cross-sector stakeholder field. The activities managed are generally different in nature and objective.

Coordinates activities that require academic (at least Bachelor) working and thinking level. Own work requires academic working and thinking level, is complex in nature and requires collaboration with experts from other disciplines both inside and outside own department.

Requirements

Master degree with substantial general work experience and comprehensive job related experience, or equivalent working and thinking level.

Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short to medium timescales within the overall policy framework.

Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment

Check compliance to procedures and guidelines regarding quality, safety and health across areas and teams, not limited within own area / team, register performed checks and submit (defect) reports where necessary and/or take action in order to comply. Encourages safety mindset and acts as role model to others in regard to health and safety and holds others accountable. Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks, and to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.

Responsible for Health & Safety, with factory-wide impact.

People management and development

Responsible for directly managing Team Leaders, teams and individual contributors.

Improves performance and engagement of own team(s). Responsible for supporting the wellbeing of their team(s), creating diverse and inclusive environment for the workforce. Identifies and grows high potential employees, key experts. Develops direct reports by coaching them, assigning new tasks, guides on skills and knowledge development.

Leads and improves the team into the right capabilities and right skills to meet mid-term business requirements. Ensures retention and development of critical knowledge and capabilities within functional area.

Realization

Direct and drive the realization of planned results and operational KPIs for the own team, able to leverage understanding of the department, to optimize factory operations beyond own and natural team.

Contribute or deliver input to the planning of the work in the factory operations and to the planning and delivery of cross-sector projects.

Define business cases and propose and monitor capex and opex allocation to remain within budget restrictions.

Establishes the mid term capacity needs (up to 2 year planning) and make timely resourcing and feasibility decisions to meet future projections.

Contribute to the definition of department KPIs in line with sector priorities and strategic roadmaps. Analyze KPI progress and make improvements to mitigate risks.

Continuous Improvement (CI)

Review existing operations (L4 level) in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.

Is able to translate CI to business impact and aligns the CI portfolio towards the goals of the factory.

Fosters a CI culture within the own team. Challenges the teams on their problem solving approach and to think outside the box when identifying CI opportunities.

Management information

Provides insights, analyses, trends, issues, etc. on operational and team performance towards tiers and management structures.

Provides actionable proposals, implement solutions and get approval if necessary.

Stakeholder Management

Builds and maintains a network of in- and external stakeholders/partners (typically other GL's and managers of own and interfacing departments) and represents the organisation (own organisation as well as +1 on operational and/or technical topics).

Explains and convinces internal and external parties beyond content-driven arguments and is able to appeal to others' interest, motives, culture, etc. Frequently reflects on stakeholder feedback to drive a continuously improving organisation.

Annual plan / budget

Cascade operational targets into plans with 1-2 year horizon, identify bottlenecks and propose mitigations/solutions. Drive realization of plans within timing and budget constraints. Manage and acquire approval for planned deviations.

Strategy and policy

Contribute to the development of the strategy on the next level and translates into annual operational plan for own organization unit.

Ensures own policies are aligned with relevant organizational counterparts. Contributes to the success of the department by taking ownership within and beyond the scope of the own organization unit.
