Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Process Engineer is a pivotal role within the Manufacturing Value Stream Organization, responsible for optimizing production processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvements. This position focuses on maintaining high standards in safety, quality, delivery, cost reduction, and innovation through lean principles and advanced engineering practices.
The role also supports all production area, leveraging cross-functional collaboration to implement sustainable solutions in line with operational excellence objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization:Develop and refine manufacturing processes for HVAC equipment, including assembly lines, fabrication, and testing.Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, implementing solutions to optimize throughput and reduce waste.Design plant layouts and workstations to maximize space utilization and streamline production.Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement:Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve operational efficiency and eliminate non-value-added activities.Facilitate Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and other process improvement activities.Implement 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production floor.Equipment and Tooling:Evaluate and recommend manufacturing equipment, tools, and technologies to enhance productivity.Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure proper equipment calibration and reliability.Work on the integration of automation and robotics in production processes.Quality Assurance:Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure processes meet industry standards and customer specifications.Develop process controls and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain product quality and consistency.Address quality issues by implementing corrective and preventive actions.Production Support:Provide day-to-day support to the production team to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.Monitor production metrics such as cycle times, yield, and downtime to identify areas for improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, maintenance, and operations, to address challenges.Training and Documentation:Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and quality standards.Create documentation to support process changes and ensure compliance with industry regulations.New Product Introduction (NPI):Support the transition of new HVAC products from design to full-scale manufacturing.Work closely with the R&D team to develop scalable and efficient production processes for new products.Conduct trial runs and pilot production to validate processes and identify potential issues.Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations.Identify and mitigate risks to maintain a safe working environment for employees.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the HVAC or related industry.Proficiency in manufacturing process design, process mapping, and time studies.Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.Familiarity with HVAC manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.Knowledge of CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.Additional InformationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
