Essential Functions
The main function of the Manufacturing Operator position is to support the operation of multi station heading, rolling, and band annealing machinery, which produce high quality, premium fasteners. A flexible and responsive approach is essential, together with the ability to effectively problem solve and identify areas where improvements can be made to existing processes and methods. This role is on the rotating morning and afternoon shift, mornings 5.45am - 1.35pm, afternoons 1.25pm - 9.15pm.
Specific Responsibilities
Support with the setting of cold heading machines, including assisting with changeovers, cleaning and making minor adjustments to machinery.Perform routine and preventative machine maintenance to ensure optimal performanceInspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.Monitor product quality throughout production runs.Perform first-piece (catch pan) and in-process inspections following company quality standards.SPC (Statistical Process Control) as required.Record production data, part counts, scrap, and machine performance.Follow all safety procedures related to machinery, tooling, material handling and wider working environment.
Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S
Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, waste production and process opitmisation.
Fork lift truck operation - in accordance with legislation and company safety regulations.Understand and comply with the company’s EHS and quality procedures.Once trained, be willing to train and impart knowledge onto others.Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and targets.Company Responsibilities
