**Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramics & Refractories in Worcester, MA is currently hiring for multiple positions. The manufacturing operator would be primarily responsible for performing the essential functions associated with their job description**
**Assignment & Essential Functions:**
+ Kiln Setter/Drawer II: A Setter/Drawer II plans and builds car configurations and stacks products in specified patterns on racks, platforms, or tunnel kiln cars to prepare for loading into periodic or tunnel kilns, ovens and or furnaces for burning.
+ Follows manufacturing instructions to use deck batts, blocks, clamps and fillers for preparing products such as ceramics and abrasives for heating or firing.
+ Selects product by burn type and dates according to firing schedule
+ Draws product from kiln by hand or by using hoist and truck cars.
+ Moves product to stripping area for visible inspection.
+ Other related duties assigned

+ Machine Operator (Hydraulic Molder): Applies a variety of methods, procedures and techniques to mold products using hydraulic presses or molding equipment to compact mix to shape product. Forming or molding basic shapes, (i.e. plates, batts, saggers, rings or bricks) utilizing shop orders and blueprints.
+ Adjusts hydraulic press settings to applicable height, weights, and length measurements listed on work orders/ blueprints
+ Completes density tests on products and reviews the well-defined shop orders and blueprints assigned by the supervisor
+ Weighs out grain, pours grain/mix into mold, uses a level or pin rake to spread mix and presses to mold the piece
+ Other related duties assigned
**Pay Details:-** **$23.40-$24.85 Starting; Additional $1.50 shift premium for qualifying shifts**

**Education/Experience Requirements:**

+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
+ General manufacturing skills such as blueprint reading, intermediate math skills (measure in standard and metrics using various measuring devices such as calipers, measuring tapes, micrometers, measuring tools) and basic computers skills are required.
+ This position requires up to 3 months' work experience to become proficient in most phases of the job to work independently.

+ Employee will be subject to a full body suit when sandblasting, to include helmet.
+ May be required to repetitively lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
+ The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.

+ While performing the duties of this job within the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

+ The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Various PPE devices & equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, respirators, dust masks, hard hats, respirators, hearing protection, and glasses may be required.
