Position Summary
The Encapsulation Manufacturing Operator (2nd Shift) is responsible for operating and maintaining encapsulation equipment to produce solid oral dosage forms in accordance with cGMP standards. This hands-on role includes equipment setup, capsule filling, in-process checks, and cleaning activities. Training will be provided for all procedures and equipment operation on first shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM). The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, reliable, and committed to producing high-quality pharmaceutical products in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities Production Operations
+ Operate capsule filling machines (e.g., Bosch, MG2) according to batch records and SOPs.
+ Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure consistent capsule fill weight and quality.
+ Perform in-process quality checks and record results accurately and legibly.
+ Complete all batch documentation and logbooks in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Equipment Setup & Maintenance
+ Set up and disassemble encapsulation machines and tooling before and after production runs.
+ Clean equipment, rooms, and components following cGMP cleaning procedures and schedules.
+ Identify and report equipment malfunctions; support minor troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
Compliance & Documentation
+ Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and cGMP regulations during manufacturing activities.
+ Maintain cleanliness and order in manufacturing areas to always meet inspection readiness.
+ Assist with material verification, line clearance, and reconciliation tasks as required.
Cross-Functional Support
+ Communicate with Quality Assurance and other departments to resolve in-process issues.
+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet shift production goals and deadlines.
+ Participate in shift handover meetings to ensure smooth transition of production activities.
Requirements
Education:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ 1–2 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred; pharmaceutical experience is a plus but not required.
+ Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation.
+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
+ Basic math skills for measurements and batch calculations.
+ Basic understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and safety practices; prior cGMP knowledge is a plus.
+ Will be trained in encapsulation equipment operation, cleaning procedures, and documentation practices.
+ Commitment to following SOPs, batch records, and regulatory requirements.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods.
+ Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, gowns, and masks.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
