Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering Specialist

This role reports to the Operations Manager and is a key part of the Operations team. This position plays a crucial role in researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, or heat transfer for both production and measurement. **Responsibilities** + Conduct research and apply findings to the planning, design, and development of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, and machines. + Evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost effectiveness and efficiency. + Develop and implement production processes necessary for the manufacture of new products. + Utilize 3D modeling software to generate concepts, final models, and production ready prints for manufacturing. + Utilize Cad for 2D layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency + Support radar systems and supporting equipment technical development and the development of associated skills related to radar systems across the organization. + Engineering Change Order documentation maintained and updated to support Engineering Change requests. + Complete production equipment troubleshooting and process improvements. + Research new and developing technologies relating to safety, and other manufacturing processes. + Lead projects in the design, specification, installation, and startup of ergonomic, automation, and test station projects. + Apply statistical methods, lean manufacturing principles and perform product and process analysis for enhancing safety, quality, efficiency, reliability, ergonomics and throughput. + Establish programs and conduct studies to enhance industrial health and safety or to identify and correct fire and other hazards. + Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs. + Responsible for the completion of ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Operations Manager. **Requirements** + Applicable Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or college equivalent) + Minimum 5 years of relevant experience + Experience working within the IPC Class 3 Standard + Experience with CAD and 3D Modeling software + Must be able to work in a team environment + Demonstrate proper use of simple hand, machine tools and mechanical measuring devices + Strong computer skills in the Microsoft suite of programs **Raytheon Canada Limited offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.** **This position is required to work onsite at our facility in Waterloo, Ontario.** **The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.** _RTX adheres to the principles of equal employment.
